Important Message: We are excited to start a new inquiry into Rocks & Minerals and how it impacts our land within Canada and around the world. We have decided we would like to showcase this through envelope books. We are wondering if anyone can volunteer to help us sew the books together. Please see picture below. Furthermore, by Monday please have your child bring in two-three different types of rocks (eg. shiny, bumpy, smooth, etc.) in a ziploc bag with your child’s name on it. This week in Room 81: Math : We continue to work on multiplication. We incorporated art into Math by creating an "array city". The student had to design 4 sky scrapers and arrange all windows in an array. The multiplication sentence was also written on the buildings. We have also started talking about rounding numbers to the nearest group of 10. We learned that if the digit in the ones place is 5 or higher you round the number to the next highest group of 10.
